Have taste, love waste: the Coachtopia Ergo is a grab-and-go shoulder bag that reimagines an iconic 90s silhouette from our archives for a more circular future. Whether in an Upcrafted or Coachtopia Leather style, it’s made from at least 48% materials recycled or upcycled from waste—including leather scraps leftover at our tanneries or suppliers that might otherwise go to landfill. It’s been crafted according to our Made Circular principles, meaning it finds new uses for waste materials and is designed to be reused and remade over multiple lives, with defined pathways for reuse, remaking and recycling. This bag's exterior is Upcrafted from the leather scraps left over after we cut our bag patterns from leather hides. By harnessing the creativity and skill of our designers and craftspeople, we’ve developed a range of techniques to turn these small, irregular and unpredictable quantities of material into Upcrafted leathers that help us avoid the creation of new materials—the production of which accounts for 38%* of the fashion industry’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Towards nothing new

In addition to its Upcrafted leather exterior, we’ve considered every element of this product—from its thread to its hangtags to its hardware—in order to prioritize recycled, repurposed and renewable alternatives instead of new, virgin materials. Its supple leather lining is made with Coachtopia Leather—crafted from at least 50% high quality leather scraps. Its thread is 100% recycled polyester and its hardware is partially made from 70% recycled plastic. Even the labels stitched inside are made from 100% recycled nylon .

Resin, reimagined

The multi-colored recycled resin used in this product is made from at least 70% recycled plastic, which is sorted by color and then turned into new products with one-of-a-kind patterns and colors. By finding a new use for waste that otherwise might have been sent to landfill, this resin has a 18% lower carbon footprint than new plastic.

A unique digital passport

This Coachtopia product comes with a unique digital passport that holds not only details of its materials, design and impacts, but is able capture its unique life story, which will continue to evolve as it is used and reused on its circular journey. To activate the passport, find the connected cloud emblem on your product and hold your phone against it.

Obsessed
Love this bag, got it a week ago and already used it like 5 times. One sad thing is it doesn't quite fit comfortably onto my shoulder like the models have it but other than that love it!

Flower Power in Coachtopia!
This was the star of the show for me. From the first collection, this was the bag I had my eye on the most. I think that all of the different color flower cutouts make the bag feel so unique. I think this would be a statement piece in anyone's wardrobe.

Black and White Checker Board
I carefully checked the description and measurements before I ordered and hoped it would work for me. Unfortunately it was too small to meet my needs. I loved it, but I had to return it. If it were a bit bigger, I would be tempted to collect every color so it is probably for the best!

Very stylish!
I have the Wavy Patchwork Ergo and I love it. Important to note the Upcrafted Leather is different then "coachtopia leather" and much nicer imo. The shoulder drop/strap is a little to small but I love how structured the leather is, the size of the bag, and the design.

Received Damaged
The bag would be cute, but it was placed in a cotton bag without any protective wrap and the fringe was pushed up and out of shape. They are sticking up in all different directions. I'm afraid to return it because I replacement would probably have the same problem. It really should have been wrapped carefully in paper with the fringe down before being placed in the bag.
